"JAMES WILLIAM REEVES On Monday, December 20, 1999, James entered into Gods hands after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers Disease. He lost so much to Alzheimers, since its rapid progression in 1996. Remaining to forever cherish James memory are his wife Elma; son Garry Reeves; daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Hudzick and Bonnie (Manfred) Klammer; sons, Archie (Beverley) Reeves and Bruce (Nicky) Reeves; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jason (Candice) Farski and Corinne Farski; two step-grandchildren; Elmas two brothers and four sisters; their spouses and families. Jim was predeceased by his parents; first wife Fern (Rogers) and infant daughter Colleen; as well as all of his many brothers and sisters. James was born on August 30, 1926 and worked at an early age to survive. He served in the army during the Second World War and was among one of the first reconnaissance troops to liberate Holland. Over the years, he pursued many occupations, which included automotive and heavy duty repair, pressure vessel welding, superintendent of transportation for the Springfield School Division and county shop supervisor in Brooks, Alberta. James excelled in welding and mechanical trades, which he had learned while in the army. He had a talent for fixing, designing and building things. James enjoyed reading his Bible. In his spare time, he loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed camping, oilpainting, playing his guitar and violin, story telling and baking pies and bread. Our family will be having a private family Funeral Service in memory of James, which will be held on Wednesday, December 22 in the Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Interment will follow in the Military Section of Brookside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in James memory to the Treasured Memories Campaign, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2W6 or to the Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. James family has entrusted his arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897-4665."

Mass was sung on Tuesday morning at Shilo Roman Catholic Chapel for the late Fern Reeves and her daughter, Colleen Anne Reeves, who lost their lives in a traffic accident on Thursday. Captain James McGivern officiated. After service the remains were forwarded from the Brockie Chapel to Badger for interment."
