"Obituary
NICHOLLS -Elizabeth (Boo) Julia. February 2, 1911 July 12, 2005. After a very full and active life, Elizabeth (Boo) Nicholls died in Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on July 12. Predeceased by her husband, Alfred; and a daughter, Myrna, she is survived by her children, Mona Woodcock (Bob) of Saskatoon, Dr. Ernie (Karen) of Regina, Malcolm (Maureen) of Victoria, Evelyn Anderson of Regina and Nancy Isbister (David) of Saskatoon; as well as many grand and great-grandchildren. Boo was born on the family farm near Warman, SK. She received her education in Warman and Humboldt before moving to take employment in Saskatoon in the early '30s. She was married in 1932 and began what became her life's greatest achievement in raising her brood of kids during the extremely difficult conditions of the '30s and '40s. Throughout those years she made sure that the entire family was very active in All Saints Anglican Church, the scene of her very own debut into amateur theatre. Boo revelled in the company of her many, many friends whether it was coffee, or crokinole, or cards (she was the undisputed champion at cribbage), her kitchen always rang with the laughter and good times with so many neighbours and true friends. She will ever be remembered for the sparkle in her eyes, the brilliance of her smile, and that laughter which made everyone's heart sing. But nothing will ever match the boundless love and fierce pride Boo cherished in her heart for each and every one of her kids. Collectively, we must have contributed immensely to accumulated grey hairs and wrinkles, but she never criticised or scolded, she only loved and supported us no matter where we went or what we did. Boo spent what she described as her "happiest last 25 odd years " in her little apartment at Cosmo Court still the hub of family visits, of coffee with neighbours, and the centre of attention. A small, family interment service of her ashes will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Boo's memory be made to a charity of their choice."4Cemetery Index - Canada, Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Cemeteries.
