"WEDDING.
SVENDSEN—BELCHAMBER. On November 9 a very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Alexandra-street Church, Auckland, where Mr Ernest Svendsen, eldest son of Mr S. Svendsen, of Feilding, was united in matrimony to Miss Sophia Belchamber, the Rev. J. Cocker officiating. The bride was charmingly attired in a dress of cream taffeta voile, profusely trimmed with silk and lace. She wore the usual orange wreath and veil and carried a beautiful shower boquet of sweet peas and roses. She also wore a gold brooch set with pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Grace Svendsen (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Jessie Winchester, who wero prettily attired in cream voile dresses. Two little tots, nephew and niece of the bride, were in attendance, and carried floral crooks. The bridesmaids wore gold bangles, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr John Belchamber acted as best man, with Mr Ira Stenberg as groomsman. Mr Trenwith presided at the organ, and played Mendelsohn's Wedding March as the parties left the church. It was a real Primitive Methodist wedding, all present at the reception at the home of the bride's parents being either members or adherents of the Primitive Methodist Church. The bride and bridegroom have been members of the Alexandra-street Christian Endeavour and faithful workers in the Sunday school, and it is expected that they will continue to work in the church. Congratulatory speeches were made at the after ceremony by the Revs. J. Cocker and J. Olphert, and Messrs Beer and Belchamber. In the evening the newlycarried couple left for Rotorua. The presents were numerous, useful, and valuable. The future home of Mr and Mrs E. Svendsen will be Grey Lynn, Auckland."
