Twelve years ago, said petitioner (who was represented by Mr. Wilford) her husband deserted her, and she had received no support from him. Separation.—At the Magistrate's Court this morning an application, adjourned from Picton, was heard in which Mrs Winstanley asked, under Section 3 of The Married Woman's Summary Separation Act, 1890," for an order of separation from her husband, Norman Winstanley, and also for the custody of the four infant children. Mr Conolly appeared for applicant and Mr McCallum for defendant. After hearing the evidence Mr Scott-Smith, S.M., granted the order asked for, for separation and custody of the children, and ordered defendant to provide a house and sufficient furniture for the use of his family, to pay £15s per week for their maintenance, with witnesses' costs £1 10s, and solicitor's fee £2 6s, including £1 5s at Picton at the first hearing. He further stipulated that the children should remain in Picton, and that defendant should have access to them."
