1Newspaper - Fielding Star, Volume I, Issue 228, Page 2, 30 Mar 1907.
"MARRIAGE.
The Primitive Methodist Church in Feilding was the scene of great interest yesterday, when the Rev. P. J. Cossum, assisted by the rev. H. Daniel, of Rongotea, united Miss Ada Matilda Svendsen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Svendsen, of Feilding, in the bonds of holy matrimony with Mr James Henry Field, son of Mr George Field, a well-known farmer, of Apiti. The ceremony took place at 1 p.m., and was witnessed by a very large uumbor of friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The bride was charmingly attired in a dress of silk grenadine, profusely trimmed with chiffon and silk lace. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and a handsome gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a lovely shower bouquet. Miss Grace Svendsen, sister of the bride, and Miss Amy Field, sister of tho bridegroom, filled the important role of bridesmaids, and were attired in dresses of cream nun's veiling, with cream hats to match. Brooches, the gift of the bridegroom, were also worn. Mr Ernest Svendsen, brother of the bride, acted as best man, while Mr Walter Field, brother of the bridegroom, filled the position of groomsman. The wedding breakfast was served in a sumptuous manner at the home of the bride's parents, and was attended by upwards of 100 friends and relatives from all parts of the district. The health of the newly-married couple was toasted on the proposition of the Rev. Cossum while that of the bridesmaids was enthusiastically proposed by the Rev. H. Daniel. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue costume, with grey toque and stole to match. The honeymoon is being spent in the New Plymouth district, and the future home of Mr and Mrs Field will be at Apiti. A very large number of valuable presents were received by the happy couple."
