"TURNEY, Barbara Diane
July 20, 1940 - February 23, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barb Turney on February 23, 2016. Barb passed away after a very short bout with cancer at age 75. She was born in Vanciuver, BC. She moved to Creston and then Williams Lake, BC, as her father oversaw the construction and administartion of hospitals in those communities. She moved back to Vancouver to begin a long career as a teller for the Bank of Nova Scotia. Barb also enjoyed doing before and after-school daycare for many years in her Surrey home. She always had a positive attitude toward life and enjoyed the simple things: walks with her husband, reading and spending time with family. She took grerat comfort in her faith and cherished time spent with her church family as well. Barb was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Jean Lousley. She will be loved and greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, Norman; daughter Sara (Steve); sister Jan (George); grandchildren Ben and Olivia. Our family extendes our appreciation to Surrey Memorial Hospital and Laurel Place Hospice caregivers for their warmth and kindness to her. A celebration of her Life was held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at her place of worship, Newton Christian Assembly. Identified that Albert Turney and Margaret Roycroft had a son, William Ross Turney, known as Ross, who was born 27 April 1944 in Surrey, BC, and died January 2014 in Los Angeles.
