NIPAWIN. - The United Church was the scene of a pretty wedding when Violet May Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Harris, Codette, was united in marriage to Harvey Albert Welch, who is stationed with the Canadian army at Shilo, Man.
The Bride was attired in a blue suit and carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Bernise Harris, wore a blue street-length dress and carried a bouquet of carnations. The groom's attendant was Frederick Harris. The Rev. J.E. Ramsden officiated."

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Allen Blair Walch on April 10, 2019 in Calgary, AB at the age of 64. Allen fought a brave battle against cancer, but passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Allen was born in Calgary on December 20, 1954. He grew up in Kamloops and had a great love of the outdoors, fishing, camping and motorcycling. In 1975 Allen and Karen married. Allen made a career as a heavy equipment operator and became one of the best. When he wasn’t working he loved spending time with family and friends camping, boating, skiing and traveling, enjoying the outdoors and the company that shared it with him. Allen & Karen relocated to Calgary in 2004 where he worked until he retired in 2016. In later years he enjoyed gaming, RC vehicles, wine making and traveling, RVing around the States, visiting family & friends and enjoying new sites and adventures together. Allen was a loving, giving, caring, compassionate man, who loved to laugh, tease and enjoy life. Allen will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed. Allen is survived by his loving wife Karen (nee Gordon) and his two daughters, Elaina Palmer (John) and Krista Walch; and his two grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail Palmer. Allen is also survived by his siblings, Dennis (Sharon), Lorna Dancy (Wayne), Patricia Holden (John), Douglas (Marilyn) and Glenn (Brenda). Allen had many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Allen was predeceased by both his parents Harvey and Violet Walch and his older siblings Richard, Judy and Linda."
