"Obituaries (04/22/10) REGINA VIVONE-VERNON (ACAMPORA) With loved ones at her side, Gina died on April 19th in Nanaimo, BC after a courageous fight with cancer. Beloved wife of Roy Vernon, cherished sister of Jo Acampora, loving mother to Christopher Vivone, caring mother-in-law to Sarah Grand, and proudest grandmother to Michael Vivone, who brought her such happiness. Born in Boston in 1946, Gina was the first daughter of Evelyn and Salvatore Acampora. A passionate educator, she spent most of her adult life in Edmonton, and retired on Vancouver Island looking out at the mountains and the sea. Always full of life, Gina will be remembered for her warmth and kindness. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. A celebration of life will be held at the Nanaimo Golf Club, 2800 Highland Boulevard, Nanaimo, BC on Saturday, April 24th at 1:00PM. A celebration will also be held in Edmonton at a date to be announced. Donations in memory to the BC Cancer Foundation or to an organization of your choice would be gratefully appreciated. 194320."

Roy Vernon passed away peacefully June 12th, 2019 at 81.
Roy was predeceased by his wife Gina.
He will be missed by special friend Lyn and his family, Kathleen, Yvonne, Andrew, Marc, Adam, Maureen, Jo and Chris.
Special thanks to all the staff and residents of Origin and Astoria.
Roy was a member of the Nanaimo Golf Club, Harbour City Probus and the Gyro Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave, Nanaimo.
Roy will forever be remembered by his blue eyes and special smile."
